A Hand Quilt Along Goodbye…

… from me… My big handwork time of year is over and now the outdoors is calling to me. Time to weed and plant and dye and make the outside beautiful. I do intend to finish quilting that quilt, and when I do, I will let you know!

I do have some hand quilting for you to admire. My friend Louann (The Finisher!) has completed this lovely Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt that she began piecing some years ago. She started it when a friend taught us how to do English Paper Piecing, and she’s been hand quilting it on and off. Isn’t it lovely?

Happy Stitching ladies!

This Hand Quilt Along is an opportunity for hand quilters and piecers to share and motivate one another. We post every three weeks, to show our progress and encourage one another.  If you have a hand quilting project and would like to join our group contact Kathy at the link below.

  1. So sad to see you go but look forward to hearing from you. I too am hearing the yard and garden calling to me but so is my discarded goodwill quilt find saying you must not abandon me again. So I won’t and will continue through the glorious summer months. The flower garden is beautiful – your friend did an awesome job!

  2. Thanks, Deb, Louann’s quilt is inspiring. But spring is very distracting here too. Have fun with the long spring you get there. I’m looking forward to what you create next be it from fabric or flora.

    • Thank you Bridget and I’m sure Louann does too! I am going outside after this and start weeding. I also see that a small iris is blooming and it has amazing colors. (Instagram!) My niece and family were here over the weekend for college visits and I am so behind since I was cleaning…

  3. Wow! Louann has created a masterpiece! You’re not going to stop blogging, right? You’re just stepping away from try HQAL for the time being? I hope you’ll be posting about your gardening and other activities, and about your lovely quilt, when you get back to it!

    • Yes, I guess I wasn’t clear. I am stopping the HQAL for awhile. I seriously have been doing nothing on that poor quilt. I have something fun in the weaving arena to post soon, so no, I’m still here. And I am doing some other quilts, but holding the posts for a bit. Gorgeous day here and lots of weeding to do!

  4. Sad to see you go, but enjoy the new season outside! I hope you’ll link up with us again when you have something to share!
